"Reaching the Unreachable, Speaking for the Voiceless and Wiping Silent Tears..."

GTM always aspires to remain relevant to the changing needs of the rural communities it visited against their urge and silent aspirations to enhance their resilience against the ravages of climate change. Our “modus operandi”principle when we visit these disadvantaged highland and maritime communities “is to give our all by empowering our community participants, as we may not ever return there”. 

Most of these rural communities are too far from the normal provisions of what modern living had to offer.  GTM always pick the most deserving distant rural communities out there that are striving to make ends meet with the bare basic necessities of life. With the very meager resources that GTM can possibly muster and collect from very understanding donors and sponsor, we always attempt to bring a smile with a tear on women and men’s faces, who knows all these silent struggles that they had accepted as part and parcel of their daily lifestyles.

 But GTM strives to ingrain in their mentality that life is better than these status quo. There is a better opportunity to raise their children with better necessities of life. There are responsible individuals, philanthropist and donors out there who can assist them. They must believe in themselves first by transforming their mentality and help themselves first, as a community. They must harness this positive energy of community togetherness, unity that shall bring them self determination of their own future that will bring about prosperity from the very natural resources they have at their disposal.

GTM in its recent past visitations to the 14 Fiji Districts from 2018-2019, we have seen and witnessed in our preliminary Needs Assessments rural communities in dire  needs; ranging from  island water scarcity (island virtually have no source of fresh water), landscape restorations & re-afforestation due to consistent burning of the landscape, coastal beach frontage erosion due to waves intrusion, soil re-mineralisation due to topsoil depletion, coral reef restoration, mangrove reafforestation, proper solid waste management (due to willful open rubbish dumping everywhere), village -level medical health clinic post, climate smart agriculture through backyard farming, evacuation retreat facilities and pre-school facilities for the children.

GTM stands ready to collaborate and partner with private sector donors, bilateral and multilateral donors and individual philanthropists with the same vision and caring heart to touch the hearts of the untouched, the silently struggling souls out there.
