Community Members of Vitogo Village, Ba after the last day of their 1 Week Training facilitated by GTM
The first REDD+ Awareness Forum was held on the 18th of June 2019 at the Ministry of Forests Conference Room, Labasa, Vanua Levu. The inaugural forum brought together faith leaders within the Northern Divisions' Christian communities as well as leaders of other faiths. It was a great opportunity to share this unique, powerful and relevant message of empowerment with community leaders. The event received recognition from the Media as an integral approach to the discussion on safeguarding Fiji's rain forests and the ecological environment.

The last REDD+ FBO Forum was convened in the Western Division at Lautoka City, that also attracted lots of interest from the Organisations and NGOs that attended.
GTM, through the UNDP Small Grant Programme (SGP) Rocket Stove Project has its own highlights in attracting full women participation in Districts we went to. The IBSA Rocket Stove Project was a perfect fit that GTM treated as a tangible sustainable livelihood component of the REDD+ Awareness.
The Ministry of Women & Poverty Alleviation in collaboration with UNDP SGP targeted 550 rural deserving women.
The highlight was that rural women were inspired after GTM awareness to be champion of tree conservation and environmental stewardship, as they are the main frontliners of forest degradation, tree cuttings and ring barking for fuelwood supplies, as a dominant part of their housewife lives. It was a timely pathway for these rural women to be inspired and empowered towards their own personal holistic spiritual development. The acquisition of a Rocket Stove was an added bonus to their 2019 kitchen belongings, that they promised shall be treasured.
